WAISN Resource Finder

About

The WAISN Resource Finder

The WAISN Resource Finder is a database of resources vetted for accessibility to immigrant community members in Washington State. It contains detailed information about ID requirements, language accessibility, and how immigration status might impact access to the resource.

The Resource Finder is an essential tool used by the WAISN Deportation Defense hotline—the largest and only hotline serving immigrants in the State of Washington.

The Resource Finder is also intended to be used by community organizations in Washington State that assist our immigrant and refugee siblings across the state in gaining access to necessary resources.

The WAISN Resource Finder is community-driven, collaborative, collective, and imperfect. The information provided on the Resource Finder is to the best of our knowledge at the time it is uploaded. This list is by no means exhaustive or representative of all resources. This database is intended for resources that are specifically available to immigrants and refugees. It is not a database of all available resources.

The Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN)

The Washington Immigrant Solidarity Network (WAISN) is a grassroots coalition of over 400 immigrant and refugee rights organizations, formed in the wake of the November 2016 elections.

WAISN is the largest immigrant-led coalition in the State of Washington. We are a powerful, volunteer-driven network of immigrant and refugee rights organizations and individuals distributed across the state in 27 counties. We work to provide support, capacity, and resources to organizations’ efforts to build power and act as a united immigrant justice voice statewide.

WAISN’s mission is to protect and advance the power of immigrant and refugee communities through a multiracial, multi-gender, multi-generation, multilingual, and multi-faith coalition. Our organizing strategy educates and mobilizes statewide to uphold and defend the rights and dignity of all immigrants and refugees, centering the voices of impacted communities.

The WAISN Deportation Defense Hotline

The WAISN Hotline (1-844-724-3737) provides accurate and vetted information on immigration enforcement to our network and is our ear on the ground, where we learn the needs of our communities. Our Hotline is supported by a Rapid Response infrastructure in over 26 urban and rural counties, which consists of volunteers ready to respond to immigration activity, requests for deportation defense and post-release support.

The Hotline expanded its scope of work to include our Immigrant Health Response as the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic devastated our community. Since then, we have supported the launch and implementation of three rounds of funding through the Washington COVID-19 Immigrant Relief fund (WIRF). WAISN Hotline Operators continue to work directly with community members to guide them through accessing community resources available to undocumented families.
